Help Us Restore Safety & Peace – no more Arise vans,
LOUD cars, abandoned vehicles!
by CBN Task Force
We have formed a task force to bring attention to several growing safety and quality-of-life concerns affecting our Cherrydale neighbors who are next to three businesses: Cherrydale Rehab, Safford Brown Honda, and Koons Toyota.
Over the past few years, our streets have been overwhelmed by:
🚐 Arise Medical Transport Vans (previously Humble)
Over the past few years, our streets have been overwhelmed by:
🚐 Arise Medical Transport Vans (previously Humble)
- Always staged on 20th St between N. Oakland & N. Quincy
- Blocking visibility, double parking, and reckless driving
- Operating early morning - midnight, disturbing residents (beeping!!)
- Leaving behind trash, medical gloves, and human waste (yes you did just read that)
- Totaled a Cherrydaler’s car; lawsuit confirmed vehicle/driver not insured
- Modified exhaust systems audible from blocks away, starting at 7AM, leave for lunch/return, and departing for day (even into evening when staying late at garage)
- Frequent speeding through our residential streets
- Causing noise that vibrates items in homes, wakes residents, and disrupts daily life (can you imagine not being able to hear your TV when one of these cars is idling outside your home?)
- Identified at least 10 vehicles abandoned on our streets (see picture)
- Vehicles are owned by employees of the three businesses
- Between the Arise and abandoned vehicles, Cherrydale loses 20+ parking spots that can’t be used for visitors, shoppers, and residents. These spots are never available.
- Created task force with CCA
- Contacted businesses to ensure they are aware of these three issues; all issues still persist!
- Working with the Arlington County Board, ACPD, Dept. of Environmental Services, Commissioner of Revenue
- Begin process to implement County Board and ACPD recommended parking zoning changes
- Join the task force by emailing [email protected]
- Take pictures/video of these issues and send to above email
- Attend the County’s Open Monday Monthly (4th Monday of month; next is May 19th) & upcoming ACPD Crime/Safety May 15th meeting
- Contact County and State officials to voice support for automated noise monitoring systems in Arlington on Langston Blvd, Quincy St, and I-66 under W&L garage
- Call the non-emergency number 703-558-2222 to report these issues:
- Loud modified cars
